About

In 1975 I came into a new “niche” sector of the recruitment industry – “Sales &  Marketing”. At that time there was only a handful of consultancies specialising in it, the rest of the industry was comprised of “Staffing/Secretarial” Agencies.

I joined the entrepreneurial John Duxberry and his “band of four” and within five years, as Duxberry Hyde Associates, we had built a multi-branch network of consultants recruiting for most of the UKs and some of the world’s most prestigious FMCG companies such as Revlon, Gillette, Proctor & Gamble, Glaxo (now GSK) Cadbury’s etc. My contribution to the company’s success was rewarded in 1978 with a Directorship and shares in the company.

In 1980, I decided to become master of my own destiny and set up Tim Amatt Recruitment based in Glasgow and which, in 1985, became The Amatt Partnership. Over the following 10 years, still specialising in sales and marketing, word of mouth recommendations coupled with some pro-active business development work, took me into major companies in many other industries such as Construction ( e.g. Hilti, Evode Roofing, Erico, Link51) Wines & Spirits ( e.g. Pernod Ricard, Gallo Wines, Teachers Whisky), Ethical Pharmaceuticals ( Boots Pharmaceticals, Sanofi-Winthrop, Napp Labs. GSK ), Capital & Office Equipment ( Warner Howard, Lansing Linde, Canon) Medical Equipment and Industrial & Commercial Services ( AutoSuture, Cannon Hygiene, Odex, GKN Vending, Bemrose, Jeyes Industrial).

From the mid 1990s, I became involved in recruiting specialist senior executives up to board level not only for sales & marketing roles but also in Production, Engineering and General Management.
From the beginning of the new century, more and more of my assignment work has been at Senior Executive level – internationally, whilst I am still very active in traditionally advertised recruitment assignments in the UK.
The quality and effectiveness of the Amatt Consultancy is born out by testimonials and recommendations from clients.
